C. H. Loilin, writer
In his book, the Sikhs and their scriptures, he writes that at the time of partition of 1947, the Sikhs vigorously safeguarded the Muslim state of Malerkotla. At that time, if a Muslim wanted to go to Malerkotla, he was taken there safely. The Sikhs never let any harm come to the property, wives or children of the Muslims of Malerkotla. They did so as part of their moral duty because the Nawab of Malerkotla had shouted the slogan of “Hai” in the court of Sirhind to save the divine sons of Guru Gobind Singh. Even to this day, the Sikhs have been safeguarding this state.
